Default Automatic question for automatic users

How often do y'all pass 5K+ on rpms when driving? Mostly likely on take off perhaps? Using paddle shifts? I don't remember the last time I hit 5K+ rpms or I wasn't paying attention. Shucks I don't remember hitting 4K+ rpms . I may try this weekend.

Pretty much, and only on the 1-2 and maybe 2-3.

Almost every time out
These cars need some spirited driving.
Even with good gas the carbon build up in the engine is detrimental to the longevity of the car.
Have some fun with it- this is not a model A

Sometimes when using the paddles and usually just first, maybe second gear. Don't want a speeding ticket!

Because of speed limits and gearing, personally I like to rev to redline in first (roll on acceleration - roll off deacceleration) ever so often. Sometimes on the freeway I'll downshift for a second gear redline. Nothing wrong with holding a higher rpm either.
I'd call this a good maintenance item to do - once termed an Italian tuneup.
Have fun.

Great replies y'all. I understand the carbon build up too.

X2 07 DD with 130,567 hits at least 5-6000 rpm just about every day!. The engine performs flawlessly !

Bout the same here....can't really kick it good without really topping the speed limit big time, and with mine being red it sticks out like a sore thumb so always trying to be aware of where Johnny Law may be.
