Default Weird lowbeam issue

First off, I know about the recall, and have already had it done. So I have an 07, and earlier this year, I put some a matching set of 6k high and low beam HIDs from corvettemods on my car. I had issues with them at first, but had the plug the wrong way. Flipped it around, and all the lights worked.

A few months ago, I was behind a friend and he said I had a headlight out. I checked, and sure enough, the passenger side lowbeam doesn't work. I got a voltmeter, and the plug is getting power. Swapped the bulbs from one side to another and (if I remember correctly) they both worked.

But now I'm noticing that the both sides only work sometimes. I can hit the unlock button on the fob, and both come on, then immediately reach in the car and turn the lights on, and one is out. Then close the door and hit the button on the fob and both work. I haven't tried new bulbs, which is my next step. I saw a post about using a different relay (maybe it was the wiper relay?) and swapping that with the default low beam relay, but on my car one has an extra "plug" and I can't swap them.

Anyone had a similar issue or know what may be the problem? Both high beams work fine. I can't say if the issue was occurring before the recall or before the bulb swap for sure.

That a strange one indeed. The only suggestion I would have is to put the original bulbs back in the low beams, and see if the issue remains or goes away.
If it stays, then it could be a weak low beam relay (#47), or another electrical issue. You can try swapping the relay with another one of equal size (hi beam relay #39)
The signal for relay 47 comes from the low beam relay control (inside BCM) via the turn signal/light switch on the column.
The relay #47 then goes through lo beam fuses #21 for the left side, and # 19 for the right side. Each fuse is 20A.
I have the electrical wiring diagrams in PDF format if you need them to troubleshoot. Shoot me a PM with your e-mail and I'll send them out to you.

Not sure what's happening with your low beams, but when you hit the un-lock button on the fob it turns on the high beams briefly.

I personally would point at faulty sub par CorvetteMods products.
Terrible company.

Then use the suggestion above and put the OEM bulbs back in and see if it still does it.
I am betting the OEM bulbs work just fine.

You have to know that Corvette Mods uses the same low cost Hong Kong shipped bulbs as found on eBay for just a few dollars.
Then they mark the price up by three or four times to sell to you.
Unfortunately, it is impossible for you to get your money back.

Let us know what you find.

Sorry for the lack of updates guys. Buying new stock bulbs tomorrow for the low beams. And **** jockey, thanks! I guess the angle I was looking at the lights from (near the front fenders) made it look like the low beams came on upon unlocking the car. I'll update again after I put new bulbs in. I believe I have the stock ones somewhere, I think I'll just get stock replacements from autozone.

A bit delayed, but I figured I'd update in case anyone else ends up with this problem. I swapped the corvettemods bulbs for the stock ones, and have had no issues since. Just a ****** product from corevttemods.

I bought a bunch of stuff from Corvettemods when i first got my car. Since then I will not buy from them. Their customer service is lacking and the products are cut-rate.

Stick with stock low beams or if you must upgrade, buy quality name brand bulbs and upgrade your ballasts.

This should be a good lesson to remember.

If everything is working OK, and you add an aftermarket product, then out of the blue, you start having problems in that area, then you have to assume that the thing you bought might just be the problem.
Always save your OEM stuff until you know for sure that the aftermarket product will work as intended.
