Default How to reset code

I had a (not sure what it is called) thing that looked like a spark plug wire type deal come off. Caused the engine to start ticking like a valve had failed and running really badly. I stuck it back on, but the engine icon is still on the dash. How do I get it to go away.

Not sure on the Corvette, but on my wife's BMW, if the check engine light comes on, and then the problem is fixed (such as a loose gas cap that is tightened), the light will go out after "X" number of ignition cycles. If that doesn't work on the Corvette, then you may need someone with a scan tool to reset it for you.

Disconnect and reconnect the battery cable, either one or both.

get a bluetooth/obd2 adapter ($10-15)and use it with a smart phone. I have used mine for years. You can check codes and clear them run diagnostics etc.

The app i use is torque.

Cheap enough, or just drive and a few drive cycles should clear it's self.

Just remember that this process requires you reset the window indexing after the car battery is reconnected.

This would be unusual not to have to re-index the windows.

May be a function of how long the battery is disconnected.

Kinda of getting off post...but I have changed batteries and never re-indexed the windows.
To the OP...drive it a few times and the code will go away.

This is what black electrical tape is for, just cut off a 1" long piece, place it over the orange light on the dash and you will never again have a check engine problem. It also works well on electronic equipment with clocks that blink 12:00 all the time as well.....

Had that happen to me also, I drove it 3 times, have to shut down in between and let sit for 30 minutes at least and it turned off it.

So if it is now running fine and you have no messages pop up at start, ie. Traction control off or active handling off, then just drive it and it will reset itself.
