I just purchased a 2005 corvette. It has the navigation/radio/cd/xm system. I activated xm radio. in the process of waiting on xm to kick in, I was pushing buttons. now I can see the xm channels, but the system says "no ipod connected". WTC! how do I get away from this? please help
You have a PAL (Personal Audio Link) likely installed into the system. It's found in your glovebox. Press XM again. XM1 and XM2 will cycle. XM1 is XM Radio while XM2 is going to be your PAL. I plugged an adapter into mine to make it a Bluetooth audio input for my Android.

first of all thanks for the suggestion. but...I looked in the glovebox and nothing is there. when I hit XM1: it shows channel 1 " no ipod connected" and the channels will not change. same thing on XM2. the strange part is this thing was normal until I went to hitting buttons! worked great, except for the ipod thing, and you were right. the phone would not play when plugged in. wow. never thought a radio could beat me, but its not looking good. any more suggestions? maybe unhook the battery to hopefully reset all?
well I can tell you if you don't have a subscription to XM radio you're not going to be able to change channels so with that said, do you have service?
EDIT: Just read you activated an account. Call them and have them send a refresh signal to your unit. You'll likely need the receiver ID for it. You can try and reset the battery option as well. Personally, I don't think XM is worth it.

well..thanks again. but still no luck. I had xm re-zap me. nothing. that dang screen as far as XM1 and XM2 are concerned is stuck on channel 1. will not budge and says " no ipod connected" I noticed another post earlier that mentioned drilling holes in cup holder and running connection cables for smart phones. I have noticed I too have an ipod connection plug and a plug that goes into the earphone/ipod area beneath the armrest. I thought this was stock until I came across this post. so now I think you were correct I have the PAL system, just didn't know it. I prob should mention this is my HUSBANDS new baby. i'm his wife. and he is ready to KILL ME!
The aux port you found is not stock. It is either a PAL or an Aux2 set up sold by forum vendor Ray Kawal. You can try
following the wiring from the aux port and it should lead you to your XM receiver. Not sure where it is on a 2005 but on my 2007, it is on the drivers side in the rear of the car under the carpet. Follow the wire to the XM receiver and unplug it. This should fix your problem with the XM Radio but you will no longer have a port for your I Pod.
Or you can search Ray Kawal on this forum and contact him. He sells both the GM PAL and the auxiliary harnesses and can probably tell you exactly what is going on.
