Default Programming new key fob

Need help guys. I received the new key fob and key trunk in the mail today. I'm trying to program the key fob but the trunk key does not turn. I attached a photo, let me know if there is something odd about the trunk key slot.

My car is a 2006 Z06.

Where did you get the key cut?

From Chevrolet. Had to show them the title to be able to order a new key fob. The key came with the key fob.

If the dealer cut the metal key wrong then you need to go back to them and get them to make it right...they are not inexpensive. Once you get the key to turn, use these instructions to program the fob or fobs:

Thanks for the help guys. So I tried the key for my glove compartment and it doesn't work either so I'm assuming the key was cut wrong.

Chevrolet is ordering me a new key. Went to my local Chevrolet and the parts guy says the key looks to be wrong. Getting new key on Tuesday.

Also, once you get a metal key that works, go to someplace like a big Ace or True-Value and get a couple of copies made. B-106 blank...around $4.
