So I want to add some color to the interior of my 2012 GS and would like to have my headrest embroidered. No one locally does this, is it possible to remove the seat back material and send it somewhere? If so where? I am thinking I would like the Grand Sport logo in red and silver added.

I believe that you can buy the upper seat cover from GM that has the C-6 embroidered flags. Check with one of our GM parts dealers here on the forum. I have had good experiences with Cultrag. Gene or Pat should be able to help you.

On Ebay you will find patches that you can attach with 3M 2-sided fabric tape. Total cost of about $20. Search the forum for prior posts w/ pictures.
The Grand Sport Logo and the Cross Flags logo were both available seat options in 2012
You should be able to purchase the GM upper seat cover with the logo you want and install this yourself or have a local shop do it for you.
It is fairly simple to remove and replace the upper cover. You can do it without removing the seat. You will need a staple gun to replace the cover as it was from the factory. I did this to my 2009.
I had Speed Lingerie custom embroider their padded leather headrest covers for my 10' GS. I love em'!
I looked at their website and only saw the covers up to 2010 model year. I don't know if the headrests are the same on 2010 and 2012? Those do look nice, had to enlarge the picture to tell that they were covers.
Here's a hint if your patches are to be glued on or taped on. Use some rubbing alcohol and clean the headrests before you put them on. You want to get any leather conditioner or hair oils off those first or they won't stick. You can recondition your headrests afterwards.

No, 2012 and 2013 have different foam and seat leather then the 2005-2011 cars.
You have the newer seat. I would think a really good auto upholsterer would be able to un-stitch the square of the headrest, sew on whatever you wanted, and you'd be good to go. If you happened to rip that part of the seat, I'm pretty sure they'd just replace that square, so I'd ask around.

2011 had slightly different headrests than 2005-2010.
2012-13 has significantly different headrests, seat shape and padding than 2005/2010 and the 2011.
Thank you for the referral. We would certainly be happy to help you out with the seat covers you're looking for. Feel free to send us an email or give us a call.
