It could be the clutch master cylinder. Take it to the dealership. It is a free replacement if they determine it has failed. You should have gotten a letter in the mail about it too.

Take it to the dealership. They will replace your master cylinder for free. There is a recall on this. I will see if I can find the number and post it here. I am sure if I don't find it in the next 5 minutes someone on here will post it.

Like the others have said, GM extended the warranty for 10 years on the master cylinder because it's a piece of sh!#.

It doesn't matter how you broke it! The master cylinder design is weak, It can't take the pressure and "blows it's top off " literally! In September they extended the warranty for ten years.
Have it towed to Chevrolet Dealership only. They will replace it for free Tim

Same thing happened to me at around 7k miles. Called Chevrolet and they sent a flat bed to pick up my car. As stated above it was replaced at no charge. I also do the ranger method every couple of months, I highly recommend it.

Happened to me. 1 st to 2nd shift at 6000 rpm. Plunger cap came off master cylinder. Dealership will replace under gm bulletin w new design. They ordered new one but would not let me install because it is a safety issue.so I bought it from them for 130$ and did it myself takes about 30 minutes I didn't want "cletus" slopping fluid on my car I disassembled the old one when it failed put plunger back together operated fine while I waited for new one to come

Slave cylinder is a good guess. It happened on my 05(16K miles), got in the car one day to start it and clutch pedal went to floor. There is a recall going on right now and got 100 percent repair cost back from GM. The car was almost 10 years old and the repair was done last summer and they cut me a check for repair cost. Work with a dealer to get that done since the check comes from the dealer and not GM direct.
