Default Constant BEEPS while driving

This weekend we drove our 2008 base vert with navigation from Palmdale to Mayer AZ, about 450 miles. We had a good trip with one exception, two separate electrical glitches on the way home Sunday. Saturday night the vette was parked outside at our hotel in Prescott Valley and the temp got below freezing I’m sure. Sunday morning when I first started the car (sun was up) the dash and NAV screen were very dim, as if the headlights were on. This was with the headlight switch in the AUTO position. I cycled the headlights on and off and back to AUTO. At this point the headlights were off and I got a “headlamps suggested” message on the DIC. It was as if the “Twilight Sentinel” sensor thought it was dark outside. I hoped the car would warm up inside and everything would return to normal. And that’s what happened after about 10 or 15 minutes the dash and NAV screen got brighter and brighter.
After we had been under way for about 150 miles I started to get groups of “beeps”, 3 at a time then 16, then maybe 10 more with only 3 or 4 seconds between groups. It was almost constant beeping. When it first started I saw a message appear on the DIC but it was gone before I could read it. Nothing ever appeared on the HUD. The beeps went on for maybe a minute or longer. I had the cruise control on and the car continued to perform normally otherwise. Just beeping like crazy, as if the car was telling us to EJECT EJECT EJECT. When it finally stopped beeping everything seemed fine (my hair even returned to a relaxed position), then I noticed all my XM radio presets were gone. So after maybe 10 minutes I reset my presets, there’s 12 and I could remember 10 of them. Some of them were now on different buttons, but most were back but in different locations. After about 30 minutes I switched the screen from XM1 to XM2 and noticed all my presets were back and in their original locations. I went back to XM1 and it was back to the original presets also. We stopped for gas and the seat “easy exit” and driver seat position memory worked fine. Everything worked fine the rest of the trip (about 240 miles).
FYI, this is a 2008 vert and the trunk partition was down.
So, have any of you experienced anything like this?
Thanks for any thoughts you have.

If the parking brake is up one click you will get a continuous beep.

Maybe the handle wasn't all the way down or the switch is intermittent/out of adjustment.

Did you have more than one fob in the car?

It doesn't have to be completely dark to fool the car into thinking the lights need to be on. Condensation on the windshield and/or the Sun-load Sensor in the dash could contribute to this anomaly.

Thanks for the replies. Only one FOB in car and I did check the E-brake handle to make sure it was fully seated. I also checked the "PASSENGER AIR BAG ON" message on the bottom of the rear view mirror. It was on with no flickering. I had seen in another post that a wife sleeping in a certain position could cause a beep.

The passenger sleeping related issue if I remember correctly, had to do with pressure on the foot-well cover and the resulting pressure on the connectors underneath.

Another thing to check, especially the large blue ones.

And.............the usual, what shape's your battery in/how old is it?

Probably should have it checked along with the charging system. While that's being done you could have them (Autozone/etc) check for codes.

If that is the case, I would surely have a constant beeping...

Two different times while on an extended trip my '08 coupe started beeping. Took me awhile to figure out that my left knee was hitting the memory buttons near the top of the door. I had bought my leg up (it was getting cramped while sitting with the foot on the dead pedal) and was leaning right on top of, and pushing, the buttons. I'm more careful about where to lean my leg now.

See5see6, that could be what happened. I like to rest my leg like that now and then. I'll have to watch for that. Thanks for the idea.
And now I have one more way to wake the wife up!

I have, also, noticed that it takes a very long time when it's cold (outside) for the headlights to turn off and the dash to light up (instead of 20-30 seconds when warm). Sometimes it takes 5 or more minutes.

Also depending on the angle of the sun, at least here up north. the time around the "daylight savings time" change They would stay on in auto even with the sun out for a longer time until 9-9:30 am. I thought it was broken.

The time change finally happened and my schedule changed by an hour and all of a sudden no issue.
