got in the car, pushed the button, and no start. tried the glove box trick, nothing. battery in the key fob new, battery on car good, makes a buzzing clicking electric type of noise in the dash when you hit the start button. its not the clicking from a starter when its nit getting enough power, this is in the dash. I read where someone had to replace the BCM, maybe he can chime in and help...
Take your cell phone in the house if you had it with you. Lock and unlock the doors and hatch with the FOB, then try to start again. Same thing with me a few months back. Ultimately, I did need a new car battery, even though it appeared to be OK. Was yours load tested?

Check the battery connections and put some dielectic grease on the posts before clamping the connectors.
Also you may want to check that the starter connections are tight.

And make sure you are using the "cone" nuts on the clamps...
if it was the battery why would disconnecting it, then reconnecting it make it start?
All I can say is that before I replaced the battery, and the FOB batteries, and became careful with cell phone placement...it was always an intermittent issue. I might go weeks...and then there it was again.

Good question. Everything on our cars depend on precheck test. If it fails one check it will not start. Disconnecting the battery may cycle the test, it does not restart or reset the computer. Trying to start the car a few times would probably have done the same thing.
Or you might have a weak cell in the battery and you caused it to move to a good cell so it started.
How old is the battery? I have not had one last more than 3 years. Even a little low voltage will cause problems in our cars. What would be fine for other cars is useless for our cars.
drove it all day now, went to walmart no problem, lowes, cvs, and the bank... it was cold last night, and I read somewhere that the cold affects these cars, I seen on a youtube video a man said his got cold and did the same thing, that's how I new to disconnect the battery to get it to start.

Did the DIC read no fob detected? If you push the button it should try to start or tell you no fob or it could be the brake or clutch switch not working.
My 08 does the same at times even with new battery in the FOB and car. After a couple of minutes it starts up like it should. It is the nature of these vettes??

Not sure if it was me you read about but I had the same problems. Just an FYI, I had my battery load tested twice and both times it came back fine. The problem is any little issue with the battery and the car has all kinds of strange problems.
Mine was a combo of the battery (bad cell) and BCM. I was told that when the BCM goes out, it's instant but that was not the case with mine. It would work sometimes then not. Very random.

When I was researching my starting issues, I had read that someone had an issue with the signal from the brake pedal. That wasn't ultimately the issue with mine but could see that causing symptoms like yours.

I honestly can't answer that question. But I know without a GREAT battery in these cars they will do some odd things.
"Odd things" is an understatement! First time my battery went I couldn't get out of the car without the emergency door release lever. Then only one headlamp lit and the parking light on the opposite side. Really strange! Instrument cluster lights flashed on-and-off while the speedometer and tach whipped between zero and max.
My car went into service January of 2010 and is on its third battery. Last one was about a month ago, and the fault was really a starter cable that was just about melted-thru. I just replaced the battery out of habit, but didn't really need to this last time.
Several neighbors have these cars and all agree that they eat-up batteries faster than other cars.
Mine has done this recently. I'd get in, close the door, clutch, press the button. One click and everything's dead. Press the door open button, slam door shut, retry starting the car, boom works. Odd...
Sometimes requires press the OFF button then retrying start to make it work.
Side note: I just put subs in the car which might have something to do with it...
