I hung my NPP mufflers last weekend. This weekend I am working on the NPP in a box plumbing.
* I ran the electrical line for the controller no problem.
* I ran the thick tubing on top of the tunnel plate no problem (I hope it will be ok where it is)
I am stuck at the vacuum port!!
I tried the 12mm socket trick. I was being very careful, I put the socket on the T connector, and it went right down over it fine. I turned it very easy, and I heard a nice "snap" So I am thinking "yes! it came off!" I felt the port and the only thing I did was snap off the T wings!
I am going to try cutting it with a hack saw blade like others have suggested. I just want to make sure I am cutting the right places. I found the pic below, there are 2 red lines. 1 is where to cut the protector tab off, and the other is where to cut the vacuum port.
following. I put my NPP on a long time ago and still never hooked up at the vacuum port. It just stays on loud mode. If I get headers I will need to attach for quiet mode
Yes cut the red line. Hose has to be pushed over the nipple. I was going to use the vacuum on the passenger side by oil fill with adapter included in kit. Then the shop where I got my headers took off intake and attached to the spot u r trying to attach. No way my hand/fingers were getting behind intake.
Cut at the red line, and make sure that the channel from the end of the nipple to the inside of the manifold is open.
Hence the vacuum channel is not through the wing section (Wings molded on as a plug end) ,and once the wings have been cut off at the red line, you have to make sure that the center vacuum channel is really open from the end of the barb to inside the manifold.
Glad to see you got the vacuum port open, what a PITA, anyway where did you decide to mount the NPP box, and have you figured out why those exhaust pipes don't match up, can you pullout or push one of the sides in further to get them to match, when i installed my exhaust i went to Advance Auto and borrowed their muffler pipe expander and just slightly used it to make the pipes on the h -pipe perfectly round again and the pipes then slid in and out like butter, of course it took very little pressure and not so much to alter the size of the pipe.

That indeed was a PITA. There were a couple spots I wanted to mount the box based on others suggestions. I decided to just mount it where the instructions tell you. I put it in the cubby hole, and drilled the holes.
About the mufflers: I snugged them both up to the little indentation in the pipes. they are still off a little bit. I don't think its that noticeable. From behind they look level and even.

Good Job !
I love my NPP Loud when I want to play and quiet when I need them to be
