I want to install a backup camera on the 2013 and use it with my navigation screen. Not interested in a mirror type screen. Does anyone have a suggestion for make/model?
I've been looking at a Soundstream with backup sensors built-in, but don't know if it's compatible with the nav system.
I changed out my stereo head unit and put in a Kenwood DNX6990HD with Navigation, Bluetooth, HD Radio - I bought the optional rear camera and it works great. My car was a 1LT so I didn't mind getting rid of the stock stereo.
I looked into back up cameras that will work with factory nav- nobody makes them any more. And the ones that they did have years ago were sub par. I wanted to keep my factory nav and head unit, but after looking at the new head units I have decided I will just wait and save up to buy a good one. They are far better than the stock factory nav, with updated technology that can do pretty cool stuff.
I am going to be getting the AVIC 8100NEX... Someday... Ha ha

I did exactly the same thing with the same head unit. My backup camera is a cheapie ... I think something like $50 from Dennis ... and it works great. No need to spend a lot of money on one. It's as good as the OEMs on my other two cars (a Caddy ATS and a Subaru Forester).
I was in the same predictament some time ago. I have the OEM Nav, and didn't want to change it out with an after market unit, just to get a Back up screen.
Since one of the hinges was broken on my driver vanity mirror, I bought a 4.3" monitor and used the vanity cover to make a template for the monitor to fit into it. What I like about, it's a stealth monitor, not seen unless one flips down the sunvisor.

IF THERE'S NOTHING THAT WILL TIE INTO MY NAV UNIT, THIS SEEMS LIKE A GREAT IDEA. VERY CRAFTY!!
THANKS FOR THE INFO.

Al,
The Nav Tool was not available 3 or 4 years ago when I did this. The Nav Tool is $400.00 as well, so at that price, I may of opted with an aftermarket stereo/Nav unit for a few extra $$.
I'm happy with my monitor location. I actually have my camera mounted in the front,on top of the center air dam deflector and use it as a front parking camera, not as a back up camera.
I seldom use the camera/monitor to park anymore, because over time, I have learned how far I can go before hitting a curb. Having the camera, and lot's of practice, I have finally figured out how far I can go.
I think that over the hibernation period, I may just swap the camera to a rear back up camera, and use the same monitor.
There was a little thinking out of the box when I decided to mount the monitor in the sunvisor. I took my time and made a PDF of it with pictures.
If you ever want to attempt it, I can certainly forward you the PDF file.
Don't know anyone that has done it but there is an option for using the factory nav screen. WWW. NavTool.com. has an adapter.
I looked into the NavTool option. It requires internal modification of the factory nav unit. It also requires the factory nav unit to be mailed to them for the modification. $400 + shipping your nav unit to them, and in the end you still have an outdated nav system.

ATTENTION:
This kit requires for radio to be sent in for internal modification, for this particular radio there is no interface module that we can send out for self installation. After you receive modified radio form us only connect 12V accessory power, ground, and back-up camera wire (if installing aftermarket back-up camera). The installation is really that simple.
INTMOD only requires extra wiring for +12V accessory power input and chassis ground connection, these connections will not void vehicles factory warranty in most cases.
