Save your money and go to Wallyworld. The plugs and tool are less than $5 each. And cigarette lighter compressors are under $20

Anything I have ever bought from Griots has been top quality so I would assume that the kit is just as advertised....never cheap, however. As another person said....you can get repair kits like "slime" and such from Wally or Amazon and they will probably work just as well.

When I didn't have runflats, I had a cheap cigarette lighter compressor and a plug kit. Probably didn't have $25.00 in it.

As with most of the small cheap compressors, you hope that they will last long enough to get your tire filled at least once. Sometimes you'll get lucky and one will last for a while. but your best to figure on them not lasting real long.

Yea pretty standard tire plug kit but with compressor, you could just buy the plug kit at any part store for under 10 bucks without compressor.

Harbor Freight is where you can buy a good air compressor for $25.00 and the rest of the items that you need for the kit. You need to put a pair of side cutters in the kit, so you can cut the plugs even with the tread of the tire, and gloves. I use my compressor all the time when adjusting pressure for auto crossing for the last 3 years. No problems with the compressor. Also, get a jack ($10) from a junk yard that will fit Volvo, VW or Mercedes. It will fit in the rear compartment cubby along with the rest of the kit. Only way to go

It's been years since I plugged one myself, but on my 86 IROC I plugged those gator backs with the $5 plug kit several times with 100% success and I used to spin those tires up to 130 mph. Great suggestion on adding side cutters. WRT to the cheapie Walmart air compressors, I have one in every car and they have never failed. Admittedly, I don't run them often.

I personally wouldn't buy anything from Harbor Freight that has too many moving parts. The stuff they sell is usually about as cheap as one can get and can/may/will break in a very short time. The only things I may buy from there are things like crow bars.....hammers....any one piece type tool that is pretty hard to break. The last mistake I made there was buying a set of buffing wheels.....about 10 seconds into the drill spinning up they flew apart and it looked like someone had just plucked a dozen chickens. Spend a little extra and buy some quality stuff.

Have used repair kits before and never had a problem. Small comp and cutters as well. That being said, had a run flat go down today in my garage, must have punctured it the last ride. Brought it to Goodyear store, $48.15 later it's fixed. When these RFs go, will replace with non RFs and a kit.

I have that compressor. You can find it on Ebay for around 50 bucks. It's a nice quality piece. I got that and bought a slime plug kit. Way less than 82 bucks.

The compressor in the Griott kit looks like a ViAir, and if that's the case, it's very good quality. They have several models, and I have one that cost about $80 on Amazon. That one's probably a lower end model, but probably still pretty good.

This is what I bought after doing my own research. Wanted to stay as small & light weight as possible. All from Amazon. I actually used everything one day & it worked great! Had to use 3 plugs, but the nail hole was BIG. The plug was good enough that I could have driven for weeks before a proper repair.

I have it, but thankfully haven't had a flat yet.
The compressor works great and the bag with everything in it fits neatly in the rear cubby.
