Default Cigarette Lighter not working

I don't think it's worked since I bought it used about 10 months ago.

I had an ebay USB adapter in there and just assumed it was crappy. Bought another name brand one, still no good. Replace the fuse, still no good.

I put an MGW shifter in a few months ago and remember detaching and reattaching the connector for the socket.

I saw some posts with a picture of a tool to replace the socket. Can I replace it without removing the console?

Car is a 2007 base convertible.

Thanks.

I got the replacement socket and removal tool. I couldn't get the socket out without putting a screwdriver in the hole in the tool handle to get some leverage.

Once I got it out, I replaced the socket, kept the bezel from the old one.

The socket doesn't want to go in as bad as it didn't want to come out. I'm gonna wait until less beers and daylight and put it in permanently but it works now.

There is a 20 sized fuse in the passenger footwell that I believe has CIG as the marker. Pull the carpet and cover back towards the passenger seat. There are likely spare fuses also. I used a tire inflator and blew the fuse so what happened to you happened to me twice.
