I am hoping to find someone with a similar problem....
My windshield will not clean properly. The reason is because it is spotted "IN" the laminate. It is not on the outside or inside. Certain light reflections make the windshield appear to have thousands of tiny bubbles between the glass. I called GM and my dealer. Neither has ever heard of this issue! I called the sub contractor that makes the windshield for GM and they will not respond. I can't believe I am the only 08 Z06 owner with this problem. I believe my car was #2 off the line in 2008. I wonder if I can locate owners of other cars built around the same date if they notice anything. I also wonder if it is "normal" but I find that hard to believe.
Thanks for any help......
I think that the outcome of this question will have no bearing on the resolution of the problem. If you truly think there is a problem, and obviously there is, then you need to start the process of claiming a safety issue with the Service Dept at your local dealership. Search for recalls and TSB's on similar issues. If your Service Dept won't do anything contact GM Customer Service and start the process. And it will be a "process"!
My dealer and GM told me forget it! It's out of warrantee. My dealer said he would like to see it but he could not offer a solution. Of course I could just replace it on my dime. I only posted this because it was strange and unusual. Like I said I was hoping someone else had the same problem.

Or you could pick up a flying piece of rock that damages the windshield

Can you post a picture , I have been in the glass and automotive business both OEM and aftermarket for more years than I care to admit
There is a thing called lamination separation that happens when the edge of the glass starts to separate but it is not in the form of bubbles in the laminate. It usually happens on really old glass
I have seen bubbles in the laminate before but those cases are few and far between and usually cased by the glass being exposed to a concentrated high heat source .
Is it the original windshield , does it have the GM Stamp and AP TECH in the "bug"
After all these years there is no way that GM will warranty this .
You might get window damage from following the your states road repair trucks. Be careful following them. However if you do get any damage, you can file a claim against them for not securing their load. Those dump trucks are always dropping rocks on the highway.

Most if not all heavy equipment owners and their insurance companies will deny any claim you make against them
The reason why is because to many people have made fraudulent claims , just pulling up behind any truck and stating "you damaged my car "

Amen to that, tough to prove. Having been an operator for longer than I care to admit, I have loaded equipment on low beds only to see them drive away with crap all over them. NEVER FOLLOW LOW BEDS, give them plenty of room, ESPECIALLY EMPTY, they bounce and rocks come form eveywhere

Thanks for all of your comments. A picture will not do it. It is at certain angles and sunlight.
Hard to explain but I am not blind or crazy. I am not overly **** but this bothers me.
I have had 3 windshields replaced in the past for stone damage. I think 100 deductible.
I think I could get a stone chip after getting behind a construction triaxel coming out of a muddy job site?
