From my experience with my C5, sounds like a problem with the multi function switch. This stick that controls the lights seems to control every light on the car. When the contacts get dirty all kinds of funny things can happen.

I agree. Same experience with the C5. I don't think much changed between the C5 and C6 as far as the wiring. If that is the case your hazard light switch may be going bad. The part is cheap, but its a bit of a pain replacing.

You've got a bad indicator /combo switch. They are not that expensive... like $45 from any forum vendor. Replace it.
