Yes, I got the letter. It's just letting you know that there is a manual lever to open the doors.

Somebody please help me. I'm stuck in my car and can't get out! I haven't read the manual so I don't know anything about these so-called "handles," and I can't remember how to remove my targa top or lower the convertible top manually. What do I do?

Also received the letter! GM way of fixing the death that occurred when someone couldn't get out of the car when the battery died.

yes I did,
this is something you should have known if you have read the owners manual or know your car.

Yes, the history of this is very sad but affects the majority of us...
An older man bought a vette and went for a drive with his dog. The battery went dead and he couldn't get out and was found in his car, with his dead dog and owner's manual in his lap. I believe the article said he was 72 and from Texas...( I will let you figure out the insults with these facts.)

I ran into this problem also due to a battery draining problem. But I could NOT get IN...and did not get the trunk hatch key when I bought the thing. I went on YOUTUBE.COM and found the answer to the problem.

Really, how many of you read the manual and THEN went for a drive in the new vette??? NOT ME!

The moral of this story? Watch Youtube!

Yes, got the letter and diagram.......because people do not read the manual AND probably is to fend off lawsuits.

Do you really think you need to read the owners manual to figure this out?

The only positive thing that comes out of all this discussion about the man, is now almost everyone knows how to get out of their car if the power fails..To bad he had to make a mistake and die to get everyones attention.....His daughter said he had wanted a Corvette all his life ,and just now at age 70 finally got one...Sad....WW
