Default Front tag bracket option

Hello all,

I have completed my widebody conversion. I live in Maryland which requires front license on car. I do not want to drill in my bumper to install tag bracket. Has anyone install this type of baracker (photo attach) if so how is the quality? All recommendations are welcome.

No experience with that type or brand of bracket. I bought a Top Flight Reproductions removable style which mounts using double-sided tape in the center of the grill opening.

Just my opinion, but the brackets that sit off-center look odd to me.

I have something like that. It was from West Coast Corvettes and it mounted securely to a sturdy part of the front end. The mount is pretty discrete as well, plate comes off in a jiffy.

Do the screws touch the bottom of the bumper? Also are there any air flow issues with that type of bracket?

Thanks

No, they provide very specific installation instructions that, if followed, will set the plate far enough out that it will not touch. Hard to tell from that camera angle, but the bottom screws are above the grill opening. Top Flight also includes several strips of foam to attach to the back of the plate. Over two years with this bracket and there is not a mark on the paint behind it.
Our GS runs at 194-196 degrees with or without the front plate in place. So, no air flow issues at all.

I have one on my 2013 GS. Works great. Easy to install. Uses a hole already in the bumper. Takes about 5 minutes to install.

Top Flight is the best! btw: an off center plate looks ridiculous. IMO

This is what I run too, when the plate is on the car.

I opted not to do the frame color of the car too, just the plate with no surrounding frame.

Had the unit that manually slide under the bumper, to disappear, but the plate took to much abuse when stored out of sight.

I feel for everyone that is required to have a front plate. So glad Tennessee doesn't.

I have the Top Flight removable mount with a color matched frame as well. If you have to have one, this is the best I have found.

I use the one from Innovative Auto Products. It is a frame that is attached behind the grill with no holes needed to be drilled. The license plate is then attached to a frame and slides and locks in. It cant easily be removed. No double stick tape. My $.02.

I have the one in your first picture on my GS. The mounting bracket attaches to the skid plate and the plate bracket slides in and stays with a detent pin on each slide rail. I leave it in most of the time but I can just slide it out if I go to a show or for photos and then just slide it back in.

I like them both, I decided to go with the TFR bracket. Your
bracket looks nice on your GS

This is a photo looking at the attachment bracket mounted behind the grill. This bracket attaches to the existing screws in the area.

This photo is of the license plate assembly that slips into the four holes in the bracket. There are spring projections on the pins that secure the assembly into the bracket.

This photo shows how the assembly is away from the painted surfaces. The assembly easily slips in and out. I keep the assembly in the cargo area and i I am ever stopped,I could place it on immediately.
