I'm going to be in Bowling Green in March. I plan on stopping in at the Museum. Never been there and don't know much about it. It will be either a Saturday or Sunday so I can't tour the plant. Advise anybody?

Have been there twice.....once to just look, the second time took delivery of my new 2005 C6. The museum is a great place if you are into the "Corvette Culture".....a single focus museum....that was good for me! For someone whom the Vette is just "another car" ....it will not be that exciting. Too bad you can't be there on a weekday to take in the plant as well....but i support the museum as a source for info and a place that preserves all the good memories of our fantastic sports car.....the only single model automobile with it's own museum!
Checkout their website....they have live cams that allow you to take a look the place!
I was there back in 2004. I enjoyed the experience. Didn't have time to see the factory. A lot of cars there are owned by individuals that keep their cars there, so I imagine that what can be seen there changes on a regular basis. It was kind of nice to see examples of Vettes there that were not trailer queens.
I can't say enough good things about the museum and the people who operate it. Everyone and everything about it is first rate. My wife and I have been going every year for ten years; as soon as we leave I start counting the months until our next visit (which is now just three months away).
Membership is a must for anyone who loves these cars. Not only does it support the museum, it also gets you free admission and discounts for events (such as the upcoming bash in April) plus 10% off regular prices at the museum store.
A few great places to dine while in Bowling Green:
As Randy already mentioned, Montana Grill (a museum member favorite)
440 Main (another member favorite)
Brickyard Café
Oddly enough, Bob Evans for breakfast (EXCELLENT omelets and hash browns)
I've been thinking of a tour that would take me to the museum and then I'd swing up to Cleveland for a visit to the R&R Hall of Fame before coming back west on whatever two lanes are closest to Canada. After driving across the GTTSR in Glacier NP in Montana I'd head SW via the Lolo Pass and hit the Oregon coast about midway and drive home along the coast. So far I haven't been any farther east than Pikes Peak, nine western states only. If I get that far east I'd really like to see the museum. I see they're having their 22nd anniversary in September.
I'm Partial to the Museum since our firm designed the Museum and I was involved in that process. They probably won't be working in the detail shop part, where they prep cars for delivery from the plant, bur it is interesting to see the care they take getting your car ready for delivery. Much better service than a dealer prep. I think this is worth the cost of the Museum delivery fee. Most of the cars there change since they are privately owned. All the cars on the Blvd. are waiting for customer pickup.
It's a very neat place so enjoy it as others have said. It was also a fun project to work on.
We go once a year for the Vets n Vettes event in November. Never gets old. Some of the displays are the same for a number of years but there are special displays that are there for a specified time period. Check the web site for the current display. An American Muscle Car display is going on now until the end of March.
