The title says it all. My question is: Can I use the electronics from my cracked case and put them in a new case?

Sure, if you can find a new case. Maybe ebay.

Yes you can, or you can get one of the neoprene covers that will protect it and hide the crack. I got a color that matches the car... If you want a different case, you can search eBay. I found a Cadillac CTS case and use the neoprene cover. Finding a good deal for a Chevrolet FOB was impossible.

I just found three of them for less than $15.00. MAKE SURE YOU GET THE CORRECT ONE, THERE IS A SIMLAR FOB THAT HAS AN EXTRA BUTTON THAT WILL NOT WORK

AFAIK Dorman has not yet created a replacement case for 2008+ Vettes or Cadillacs.
The quick identification is, if the fob case doesn't include a removable key, then it won't accept the internal PCB even though the exterior appears identical.
Although,if you want to try it, I do have a pre-2008 Cadillac 4-button fob in my desk drawer for sale real cheap.

You can always wrap tape around it and wait for Dorman repair kits or check on the C6 parts forum and/or ebay.

Yes, I've changed cases on mine. You can find used ones on eBay for practically nothing.

I must be way too lazy - I just wrapped tape around both of my '08 FOBs each of which has cracked.

I did think of doing that but the plastic piece that allows the key to come out was broken too, Wally

Apparently my ebay skills are lacking, what would you search for to find a 2011 fob case (case only)?

That did the trick, ordered a piece with an uncut key (case only), will keep the key around in case I need it.
