It's important to spray the contacts with a corrosion preventative after cleaning...this will make them better than a new one.

Bought a pair off FleaBay for $17.95. Ten minutes later, and all was right with the world.

BTW, I cleaned the old ones, and saved them if needed.

I replaced the door pad, fail. Next step was to replace car battery, success!

I recently discovered Radio Shack was purchased by another company and some of the stores are open. As a service engineer one of my favorite things I always used was control/contact cleaner and lubricant. In the old days it was known as tv tuner cleaner. It cleans the contacts and lubricates them to prevent further oxidation and does not conduct electricity. I've used this stuff for 30 years on all electrical connections where it is subject to moisture or humidity. Great stuff. Just clean the contacts first with fine grit sandpaper.

Thanks for all the information. I cleaned both of my doors tonight and they work 1000% better. I'm tackling the trunk switch tomorrow.
