Hey, I'm new here, I just bought a 2007 Z06 Corvette wrecked. I work at a body shop but this is my first time working on a Corvette. I'm 20 so my experience is definitely limited lol. But my question is I have to replace the whole rocker, and I already have the quarter and fender off. I was wondering how to remove the rocker without damaging it ( if that's possible ) I'm asking because I'm getting one from the junkyard. Any help is appreciated! Thanks.
Yeah, we get a deal from Chevrolet as a dealer l, but it's still way high!
to do it properly the interior has to be removed, the floor panel sections and the rear quarter as well.if I recall correctly the dash may have to be removed

Not true. You do have to remove the fender and the rear quarter panels, and interior carpets, seats, trim. You don't need to remove the floor panels or the dash.
Ask me how I know.

To the OP. A good body shop will have to take off the rocker panel. It is held onto the frame with automotive adhesive. The adhesive has to be heated up some (I believe) to be able to pry off the rocker panel. Then they will glue the new rocker panel in place. I do not think that the old rocker panel can be saved, but why would you want that anyway.
It has to be done right so that the door, fender, and rear quarter panel line up properly and have the right gaps.

Reason: spelling

ive been told and ive also seen on the building of the z06 that the rocker is impossible to get off without damage. Any other part of the car is OK and can be accessed except the rockers. some super space age glue is used and it don't give up easy. Sorry
You can also cut back the rocker and seam in the replacement part. Someone good with fiberglass can do it and not even know especially if you do it under the sill sticker. Much easier and cheaper to find a partial rocker
I would definitely do the partial if my rear section didn't have some damage, I myself have very little experience with fiberglass, but I know my dad is good with it. But quick question? Why are there rockers on ebay undamaged? I talked to a guy from a junkyard and we couldn't figure it out! Lol but looks like I'm going OE.
Ncvette, only so I could get a junk yard one instead of a OE.
And I do have my fender, and quarter off, and dash is coming out too.
If you can find one in a junk yard that is OFF the car already AND completely undamaged then I see no reason that you couldn't use it. I would be surprised if that was the case.
Why is our dash coming out? Is it damaged?
I personally would not try to repair it, I would replace it seeing your damage. It would be VERY hard to get it even close to right. I would think any body shop would tell you that.

That is why we're replacing it, it isn't worth the time or quality. We own a body shop so. But the dash is out only because of other damage not related to the rocker panel.

Ok. I didn't know there was damage to the rear. I have the front 3/4 from a friends car I had to fix. It's oem new and yes they are expensive. If it was something you could use I will sell it cheap.
