Default storage, battery question

Been a member since 2013, but just got a C6(2012)a month ago and this is my first post. So I hope it's in the right spot.
I got the car a month ago and had to put it into underground parking storage where I live in Whistler BC. There is no plug in so I can't didn't disconnect the negative on the battery and hook it up to a battery tender. Therefore I just left the battery connected. Wondering should I remove the battery completely and charge it at home? Have about 60 more days to store it.

There is a danger of the battery freezing if the storage space isn't heated. So yes, must remove the battery, take it home, put it on cardboard or carpet piece or similar and put a maintainer on it. In fact, for 2 months it might not even need to be on a maintainer if it's fully charged.

If you would have disconnected the battery there and then it may have been o.k. for a couple of months. However, I would now pull it and take it home for a recharge until you are ready to fire your car up again.

Doesn't effect the computer or anything? I know if I remove the battery on my bike it basically has to go to the dealer to get it going again.

You will have to re-index your car windows. I believe the procedure for it is in your owners manual and it's listed on here on how to do it. You will also have to reprogram your radio stations and settings. Your cars computer will automatically relearn your driving style. To get back into the car you will have to use the manual key supplied and open the rear hatch/trunk at the key hole above the licence plate. From there you can open your door by pulling the cable on the left side of the car.

Make sure the key can open the rear hatch BEFORE you disconnect the battery.

just start it every week or two and let it run for 20 minutes=no dead battery and circulates oil.run long enough to burn off condensation in exhaust system

Idling will not heat the oil sufficiently to "burn off" anything. In my opinion, for long term storage, it's best to simply let the car sit until you are ready to use it again. I would also add that idling for 20 minutes wouldn't be enough time to recharge the battery after you draw it down by starting it. Also revving a car while not driving isn't good for the emissions system.

Put some fuel stabilizer in the gas tank and pull the battery. Cover and don't worry about it until it's drive time. When you are ready to start the car, hold the throttle to the floor - this disables the fuel flow - and then press and release the start button while you continue to hold the throttle to the floor. This will take the car through a cranking cycle to get the oil flowing. When cranking stops, release the throttle and allow the car to start normally.

Don't close the hood, leave it unlatched. You can then install the battery without getting into the car to pop the hood.

I'll bet that your battery is already dead. The computer draws even though your car is parked and not touched. You need some sort of trickle charger.
Best of luck!

Good thought....but would that not also make it a bit easier for someone else to get in there and mess with the car.?...not easily without the fob of course, but still....would make me nervous.

Even if it's a secured garage I would NOT leave the hood unlocked. Repeat, NOT.
