Default Launch Control?

I have a 2012 GS Centennial Edition. It has three modes,
1) Traction control on.
2) Traction off
3) Competitive Driving mode
So I put it in Competitive Driving mode, pushed the gas to the floor but the RPM's didn't stop @ 3000?
So im guessing the car does not have Launch control??
Or is it broke? Thanks for any input on this.

Manual trans, yes? Only manuals have LC.

You can't "push" the gas to the floor, you have to "mat it quickly" or the system won't engage.

I've been a little hesitant to try launch control. I know the car is designed to handle it, but I guess I'm just a little nervous to break something I can't afford to fix. I understand it would be covered by warranty, but…
I just remember the old days when I would beat the snot out of some of my cars, and I also remember a few situations where parts were flying!!! One day (i feel soon) launch control will happen and I will probably regret doing it. Not because something broke, but because something didn't break and it was too much fun. Let's try that again, and again...
