E85

Has anybody bought e85 in South Carolina in the last 2 weeks? Spinx pulled it out of all of their stations last month just after I programed my car for e85. Bummer!

Good news Spinx will keep e85 at one station at the intersection of I-85 and highway 14.

I'm not sure how any E85 is good news but if you want it around, I'm glad someone has it for you.

I'm curious too. Why would you want E85 when S.C. has the lowest gas prices in the country ? I just paid $1.36gal. for regular in S.C. and hi-test was $1.58gal. (Filled my daily driver, not the Vet) There are other places in S.C. that are lower than that. No E85 for me.........

E85 is a good alternative to race fuel because it has a much higher octane rating and cools the intake charge by vaporizing. It's very popular in supercharged applications, especially over 650 rwhp.

Correct using e85 as a means to higher octane to allow cancellation of IAT ignition retard for drag racing without the hazard of detonation and knock retard.
