Dead Horn
Little words of wisdom required please...
The horn in my '06 Vette has decided to quit working for spring. I have replaced the fuse for the horn but still no dice.
If I push on the steering wheel or if I arm the alarm it doesnt beep, despite being set to do so, and it was working fairly recently.
Any good ideas or places to hunt around?

I replaced my horn last summer, got it from napa and it works great.
Before replacing check to make sure its not just the wires come lose.

Here is an electrical schematic of the 2006 horn circuit.
If the fuse and relay check out, then it's either a connector issue at the horn, or ground.

I had the same issue with mine.
Disconnected the plug at the horns, hooked up a multimeter and had someone honk the horn, saw the voltage change so I knew everything was good up until the horns itself. Changed horns and worked.

Had the same problem a year after I got my 2006 coupe. Found that the wire had come off at the horn.

Happened to mine too. My horns were full of water and stopped working. Replaced with horns from a forum member and they work great again.

Check for corroded connections at the horn first. Sand them with fine sandpaper until clean then put a dab of dielectric grease on them to prevent further corrosion. If you can, clean the female connector with sand paper wrapped around a small screwdriver by pushing it in and out a couple of times. Quite often it's the connections at the horn.

The way they were mounted in my car, they were collecting water. I drive my car daily rain or shine and I guess water got in them.
I thought it was a poor design or they were mounted wrong, but when I put the other horns in they pretty much go one way, and they are pointing the same way. I should probably drill a small drain hole at the bottom or something.
