If you look at your LS2 intakes-you have air coming in to them on "2 sides". Cut a hole or 3 in your shroud and you will accomplish just as much as you would spending 300-400-500 bucks on some filter. The answer to your question is no. K+N filters do not filter the air as well as OEM either,which is another down side. That's not my opinion,that's test results posted somewhere on this forum years ago. VARARAM will get you a little gain at speed. Again though,my experience with that is that a lot of dirt and other stuff get up in there and remain trapped. It's a pain to take it apart to get at the filter and clean it a lot. Do headers if you want real gains. At the end of the day,it cost more but you get what you pay for!

The performance improvements with a VaraRam do not show up on a dyno, the car is stationary after all.
However, track testing has shown a 2-3 tenths improvement in the quarter mile with no other changes.
Chuck CoW documented this a decade ago. And before you ask, no a front license plate does not adversely affect the VaraRam.

YES, the VARARAM is the BEST and it works.
