price seems too good to be true also, has it listed as super clean inside and out and runs great. has a few smallish scufs/scratches on the rear passenger quarter panel area where it looks like he swiped a post/car or a car may have swiped into it but its not too bad. said it has a new radiator and the water pump and new reupholstry. said the driver seat does not move and would need replaced? They had it orignally posted for 17k and now said he'd take 14.5 for it if sold quick. At that price im almost willing to take the risk at it has fairly good miles. Anything that sounds weird or i should be concerned about? maybe i should try and find somebody to run carfax on it for me...

really? If that's the case I just see no way that it has a clean title, and runs great with the miles it has and willing to take 14,500 for it... I would almost think for certain something can't be right. He came 2.4k off his asking price. He's several states away so I can't simply look at it, I'd have to make a final decision prior to going.
EDIT: I feel so dumb. I know the Z06 has the 427 ls7 but thought maybe this was a different model then the z06.

The ONLY C6 model actually named "427" is the convertible with the Z06 motor, and that was only made the last year of C6 production . . . and that was 2013.
All of the C6 hardtop Z06s have a "427" motor, but they are not officially called 427s. No other C6s have that engine.
Okay guys I got more pictures and info from him. Said he didn't mean to put 427 in the title. It's a base couple, 1lt. The scufs on the back are even smaller then I remember. They are very minor. The reupholstry looks really nice. The car overall looks to be in really good shape and has 88k miles. Guy said it runs great. At 14,500 I'm really tempted to pull the trigger. Is there any posts on this forum where you can post Vin numbers and people will look them up for you? Please let me know! I'd like to look up the Vin prior to me making sure final decision.

He just "accidentally" put the number "427" in the ad??? "Accidentally" saying its a much more desirable and expensive model? What number was he *trying* to type? "426"? "327"?
Sorry, I'm not buying that story at all. The guy seems shady, and I wouldn't buy from him.
Folks, I see CL ads ALL THE TIME for Vette's stating that it is a Z06, or has a 427, or is a GS, when none are true. Some folks think all Vette's are 427...some folks use keywords where they should not. Never trust anyone's description of an online vehicle unless they can provide you the VIN so you can decode it yourself.
I just did a quick search on Autotrader and found the blue Corvette you are looking at. You would be bucks ahead to pay for a qualified PPI (pre-purchase inspection) before deciding anything about that car. You need to know that this car is mechanically and electronically sound before signing anything.
From the three photos shown with the ad, I see some red flags.
Count on several grand to repair or replace the headlights. Those are the worst I have ever seen.
Why was the interior "reupholstered"? Water damage? Fire?
Why is there something behind the front tire, blocking it from rolling?
Why does AutoCheck not work for this VIN?
Just too many shady things here. If this is going to be your only car, I don't think this one is right for you.

He said he had it reupholstered because the seats were ripping. It has a clean title. I just need to bite the bullet i suppose and buy a carfax account to look up records on the car. His original photos in the ad are terrible. he sent me a couple dozen better quality pictures and the lenses are a bit foggy but not nearly as bad as they appear in the picture. Not sure why he didnt post the vin, but he had no problem giving it to me. I know i never post the vin in any of my car ads, just something i dont do personally. I'm pretty certain thats not anything holding the car in place, it looks to me like a piece of paper/newspaper. He daily drives it Maybe here in the am i can try and post some pictures that he sent me.
