Should the paddle shift work even when in Drive and not in Sport mode? I noticed the other day while reaching up to signal to change lanes I accidently hit the down shift paddle and the car down shifted while being in drive. Is there a mod that may have been done prior to me buying it so it works all the time? Thanks for any and all info.
Oh I forgot to say I have a 13 GS

The driver may choose to briefly
activate the Manual Paddle Shift
system while in D (Drive). Tapping
either the upshift or downshift
controls will place the transmission
in Manual Paddle Shift mode. The
driver may then exit Manual Paddle
Shift mode by holding either upshift
control for two seconds. The system
will return to automatic shifting after
10 seconds of cruising at a steady
speed, or when the vehicle comes
to a stop.
As Vette DD posted above from the Manual "The system will return to automatic shifting after 10 seconds", in S mode they remain active until you switch back to Auto mode.
Thanks All and Yes Vette DD and NSF I should have checked the manual first but Thank You for answering. In the 13 manual I think it's on page 9-26. Thought it was a little weird that a trans would allow you to do both. I'm with RocketDawg in thinking it was only going to work in Sport mode so that's why it caught me off guard.
In drive it is nice when you pass a car and don't want it to down shift 3 gears when you nail it you just pull it back a gear and you don't have all that screaming. It is also nice to down shift when you take an exit ramp to slow down. In drive it goes back to auto shift after a few seconds of not using or coming to a stop. This in 2011 and newer C6.

OK, that is a very logical reason. Mine's an '09 and has to be in S for paddles unless I'm sadly mistaken. Honestly never tried it in D.
