Default C6 Differences

New to the forum. I am considering an 06 vert that is very nice. Going to look at an 09. My question is other than the engine are there any major differences between the 2006 and the 2009?

Any help or comments would be appreciated.

The '06 doesn't have steering wheel controls for the radio. The '09 doesn't have a light under the hood.

Well, the big one that jumps out is of course the LS3, but if you're looking at manuals, 2008 was also the first year of the TR6060 transmission. I much prefer it over the older T56.

The 2006 has the LS2 engine with 400 HP, the 2009 has the LS3 engine with 430 HP.

Other differences may be found here:

Short answer, yes there are many improvements in the '09 over the '06.

Good luck with your search.

We traded a 2006 A6 Z51 3LT for an identical 2009. The additional power was striking, the steering was redesigned for 2008 and became much lighter but more precise, lots of other small improvements.

The improvement from our 2006 to the 2009 was greater, for me, than the improvement from our 2001 (C5) to the 2006.

All the above. If you can afford the newer car, get it (unless it's coupe vs. 'vert in which case....).

The dual mode exhaust was an option also on the newer car if so equipped.

Lots of minor differences that may be hard to see such as no ambient light in the passenger sunvisor area on the 2009 and different wheels but the only real major difference is the engine and transmission.

This link probably explains the upgrades that happened in '08 the best.
