Default Help with TPMS please

I am replacing 10 year old tires and TPMS sensors. I ordered the OE sensors on Amazing, from a company with 100% satisfaction with over 200 reviews. Once the Chevy dealer installed them, they said the sensors did not work. They saw no activity from them at all, as if the batteries were dead, all four of them. It seems unlikely to me that that is the case. Anyone have any thoughts on what may be going on? Something that may have been overlooked? I will try to go to another shop and see if they can get them to work before ordering new and do it all over again. Thanks for any help or suggestions!

Could they possibly be the sensors for the newer C6's. I know there are two different sensors, I have an 08 and it takes the older sensor. I don't know how to tell the difference.

Good luck

When I ordered them, they said the fitment good for a 2006 (which I have) and the reviews by some of the customers had the same year. Also, the dealer said they were the correct part number for my car.

You were possibly sent the wrong ones? What's the part number?

The chances of all 4 being bad out of the box seems astronomical. I assume they checked each sensor individually with the tool, and not just declared them bad because the car didn't see them?

NOS parts? If they've been on the shelf for 10 years, they might be just as dead as your original ones.

I wonder if they put the car in learn mode. We are talking about a dealership service center right?

The dealer said the part numbers on them were correct. Just talked to the dealer again, said they tested each sensor and none of them are working. Said they have a testing tool and a programming tool and neither are registering/showing a signal. Parts are from Lightkorea, return address in NV, great reviews/customer satisfaction.

First we need to know the what are the part numbers? There are 3 types of sensors that were installed over the years? Then we can try to trouble shoot.
2005-2009 was 25758220 …reset tool needed
2010-20013 was 15268606….reset tool needed
and the 'Green" 20925924….can be programed WITHOUT a tool.

Strange that all are bad, are they aftermarket or AC DELCO sensors.
I guess anything is possible, but dosen't seem likely.

I just bought these. 2007
Amazon.com: ACDelco 25758220 GM Original Equipment Tire Pressure Sensor with Valve Kit: Automotive Amazon.com: ACDelco 25758220 GM Original Equipment Tire Pressure Sensor with Valve Kit: Automotive

My scan tool picked them up immediately.

I don't think you got the ones for your car.

Those are the ones I ordered, except they were from a different supplier. If you look at that page you linked, on the right side is a list of other vendors, mine were from Lightkorea.

If you look at the link in the post above, that is what I ordered. Based on that I am lead to believe they are AC Delco.

What is the possibility of all four sensors being damaged during tire mounting and road force balancing?

It depends on how pissed off the dealership is at losing their additional profit on selling the sensors from their own parts center at full GM retail prices.

Why would you pay 7.00 per sensor more than buying from the main linked Amazon seller?

Mine came from:
SAE-Parts
SAE-Parts storefront
4.5 out of 5 stars91% positive in the last 12 months (193 ratings)

SAE-Parts or Korea?
Kind of odd which one to choose... That part number is the same as the TPMS in the Kia Forte.

When I ordered, the SAE parts did not show as a vendor, if it did, the price must have higher because the ones I ordered were the least expensive that I saw. The Lightkorea was the mained linked, units shipped from Nevada.

Just for kicks, go to Discount Tire and ask to have your sensors reset. I wouldn't take just one shop's opinion on something they say doesn't work, especially a dealership. Some tools can check the battery strength along with things like serial numbers. If that's good and the serial numbers refer back to the correct part number, then it's an operator error. If the LF won't work, try the others, since it makes no difference to the car where you start, except for the order it reads out on the DIC. Otherwise, have one removed to verify the part number.

BTW, for Kent 1999, sensors don't get started for electrical draw until the centrifugal rotating force activates them. However, since the shelf life of most lithium batteries is 10 years, it's possible they have so little power left to activate.

I am planning to go to another local shop tomorrow and let them have a crack at it. The dealer said they used two different tools, one to try and relearn for the car ( no signals from the sensors), and another to test the sensors (no signal from any of the sensors). They said the testing tool could be used to check the sensors before installation, if so, why didn't they? Does this seem correct to anyone? Said they would check my next set before installation.

Perhaps they've sat around of the shelf so lone that they're no good.

Perhaps, but from the number of sales that seem to have been made by the company, it seems unlikely. But, you never know.
