Default Windshield Question.

I have a question someone may be able to answer for me. My 2013 ZR1 has GPS/Nav system in it with Heads Up Display, so my question is I am replacing the stock Nav system with a nice aftermarket Kenwood NAV system If I replace the windshield can I get one without the GPS module mounted on it? Would it cause any problem like codes of warning lights?

I don’t use On Star. I think the module on the top of the windshield is for GPS and On Star just want to make sure if I get a windshield without GPS it is not going to cause me any issues.

Thanks

The "module" on the windshield is the OnStar antenna -- not needed at all for your radio's GPS (either factory or aftermarket). I think (?) OnStar's own GPS antenna might be in there as well, but if you don't want OnStar, you won't need it.

The radio's true GPS antenna is under the dash pad near the center speaker.

I would think none of the replacement windshields come with a OnStar antenna pre-mounted, but I can't say for certain. Its mount bracket is just attached to the windscreen with double-sided mounting tape. You can remove it if you want.

However, you *will* want to be sure to get a windshield made for HUD. The HUD will indeed work with a standard windshield, but it's not quite as sharp.

Thanks for the info I have been looking at GM replacement windshields and the come with varied options for the C6.

Just have to pick what configuration you need.
