I have a 2006 Z06 and theres no On Star. But I have read that there is a way for someone to access it by stealing your frequency's when you lock it with the fob. But they have to be close. The way to avoid that is to lock it manually when leaving the car. For some reason your car is going to a default position. As an owner for 11 years my first guess is your battery is going south. All the gremlins pop up when that starts to happen.

yeah someone has definitely got a hard on for me. Would there be anyway for them to turn off the car at high speed or even have the steering wheel turned due to the fly by wire?
kind of scary to think about...

Makes me wonder if installing shielded covers or faraday bags over your cars computer control modules/antennas to defeat this sort of hacking. Kind of like wrapping tin foil over your key fob. Might be great if we ever had an EMP pluse attack too.

Put your FOB in the freezer. I read on here that will stop the problem. Search for Freezer FOB. You'll see...!

The simple answer is that you probably hit the driver 2 button when you were getting out and didn't realize it. That's why you heard the beep.

If someone is accessing your car remotely and this is happening more often then most people realize. You can install a Faraday cage around your computer and antennae. This is a simple copper screen box enclosing those components. The copper cage must be connected to a ground strap type curb feeler that stays in contact with the street to remove the offending remote connection and stray capacitance that is caused by the Faraday cage. I have done this to mine to prevent this and so far there has been no more tampering. One warning though, cops do not like this arrangement because it interferes with their radar detectors.
