Factoru tour / museum visit
My wife and I are planning to trip to Bowling Green in April to tour the plant and visit the museum. A couple of questions....is the Corvette gift shop located in the same building as the museum? I see where you can on on-line and make tour reservations. Are reservations a good idea, or required? In other words, is it advised not to just show up hoping to go on a tour?

The gift shop is in the same building as the museum. You won't need reservations for the museum but I highly recommend it for the plant tour as there are a limited number of slots every day. The assembly plant is not on the same property as the museum but it is very close by.

I am curious about something. I have toured Harley Davidson's final assembly plant at York, PA, their engine plant in Milwaukee, and their plant in Kansas City, and have never paid to take a tour. I guess they figure and appreciate that a lot of those taking the tour have already spend thousands of dollars to buy one of their bikes.
Why does the Corvette factory charge for tours? Is it to cover the cost of some souvenir you get when done? Maybe this is a good question for "ask Tadge"

Plant Tour
My wife and I did the plant tour a few months ago, I highly recommend doing it and making reservations, the gift shop at the plant is no big deal, the museum across the street has much more if you are looking for other things. Enjoy!!

My wife and I plan on driving up and doing the museum and factory tour sometime in April or May also. It's only a 3 hour trip from here, depending on Nashville traffic.
Do you get factory tour reservations on the Museum website?

I was there on Tuesday and made reservations online for early morning. There were 25 people in the first tour so I imagine as the day goes on it probably gets busy so yes you should make reservations. Museum was no problem.
Also if you have time, the Historic Railpark was enjoyable.

I suggest you make the reservations asap, as the slots do fill up quickly. The tours are 830 am 1130am and 130pm

ruxvette, you are correct. However, the steel toe tour is an upgraded tour that includes admission to the museum and transportation between the museum and the powertrain facility and some behind the scenes stuff. The regular tour is free of charge.

I made my reservations today. We had to adjust our trip by one day because the tours were sold out the day we had planned to arrive. Oh well, I am looking forward to driving the vette down and taking the tour.

Any opinions on what to do first, plant/museum, museum/plant. Heading there in mid April with no time limit. Do the tours have any provisions for handicapped? Best wishes to Red08 and anyone else that may be heading there this year. Don't forget to wave!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Doesn't really matter about the order, we've did the museum first the first trip; this last trip, we did the factory first only because the day we arrived and went to make reservations for the factory, they had an plenty of openings ... it was January, middle of the week and there were only 5 other people in our group. Can't answer your second question. Have a great trip

I was reading on their website that walkers and canes are not allowed, but they do off wheel chairs for those needing one. BTW, we are on the 8:30 am tour on April 20th. Anyone else on that same tour time?

It's cheap enough that I'm not going to complain, and I enjoyed it immensely. Was surprised that even the kids enjoyed it as much as I did. The one area I wish I could have seen better is where they place all the liquids (brake fluid, radiator fluid, clutch fluid, transmission fluid) in the cars. It would have been interesting to see how that is done.
