'05 Z51. Left rear TPMS reads zero so I assume it's battery has failed as the pressure is fine. TPMS light not coming on, though it came on when pressure was low some time ago.
Looks like 10 yrs about the life of the TPMS battery so they'll probably all have to be replaced. Considering Discount Tire for replacement. They quoted $216 for 4 TPMS's plus $28 for installation. I can buy from Amazon at $116 and have DT install. It also appears you need a special tool to link the new TPMS with the car computer. That tool appears to cost in excess of $200. If DT matches the wheels with the car's computer using their equipment this will be a bargain. Otherwise I'm stuck without a tool.
I bought new wheels, tires and TPMS this spring. I had the tire dealer put them all together (cost included with the price of the tires). I had to buy the tool ($130 off ebay) to reset the car to the sensors.

Any of you had similar issue?
Some years ago I replaced my stock wheels & tires with an aftermarket package that came with new sensors pre-mounted. After mounting the new wheels, drove over to a local dealer & their service tech did the "programming" of the new sensors. Took all of 10 minutes & was not charged.....tipped the tech a $20. Try your local dealer....
Discount Tire quoted me ~$76 per new TPMS. I found the same part on eBay for $46 each (with rebuild kit included). Discount installed - and initialized -- them at no charge when I had my new shoes mounted. Another thread on this topic stated that the OEM AC/Delco part was only ~$26 each (not sure if this included the rebuild kit).
I had the same situation last year, L/R TPMS reading 0. Ordered the TPMS from amazon and the tool ATEQ VT5 One-Button Trigger Tool for GM ($75.00) and was an easey swap the shop just had to break the seal of the tire remove the old TPMS and install the new one. If you take the tire off the Rim then you will have to do a wheel balance. Cost me $10.00 to do it and I have my own tool in the garage. This tool is very easy to use.
