Just finished installing it and had a short drive.
The MGW shifter will make driving my Camaro with Hurst Comp Pro shifter feel like ****.
The C6 stocker and Hurst were pretty close in throw amount with the Hurst having a more solid feel like you were moving into proper metal gears and the C6 stocker felt like each gear had plastic linings as you pushed into gear.
The MGW feels like precision. Tight tolerances. It communicates to you that I am solid and the slack is in the shifter but everything else connected to it.
The MGW shortens the shift a very noticeable amount. 5/6 shift felt like the old distance of 5th to neutral. I feel like the amount I have to move to shift is something my hand can handle without moving the whole arm.
In a word I'm sold. Need to get one for the Camaro as well now.
I have read that its more of a "notchy" feel to it ? And have been have a little bit of a hard time shifting into reverse with my stock shifter. Does the MGW give you a positive gear selection ? I am really considering making this my next mod.
Both my transmissions are t-56, so by nature they have a "notchy" feel to them. The syncros are triple cone in the vette I believe so while I feel it is notchy, it is significantly less notchy than the camaro.
My first few shifts of the MGW caught me off guard as to how short it was to move left and right as opposed to just get into gear. It reduces throw distance in all 4 directions. I would say the feel of the MGW is positive. Since the height is "adjustable" you can add/remove leverage to your preference to overcome that notch resistance feel. I chose short as possible in my adjustment, but I think I can almost vary it by ~1 inch. I believe that with the tighter tolerances it makes locating the position easier once your hand can accept it as the new normal.
I think the key difference in the stock lower box and the MGW is serviceable bushings for the rail. The stock shifter has a lot of "slop" in it by it's design which only gets worse as it wears. If your lower box isn't slopping around, the MGW won't increase precision by a significant amount.

I am also looking forward to getting an MGW. If you're having trouble getting into reverse, try shifting to 5th first, then going to reverse. That has helped me in the past.
OP- I was sold too as soon as I drove my car w/the MGW. It is a much better shifter than stock.

I had a buddy that was more knowledgeable than me help me out. It took us about 2 hours or so. It's more tedious than arduous. There are lots of little screws & the trim pieces have to be manipulated correctly & the alignment correct. It's more than I wanted to tackle by myself with limited experience but w/some help it was do-able so 5 or 6-ish?
I put an aftermarket 60th shift **** on mine too.

I took my time on it, but even then I spent 1hr at most. I had more trouble removing the trim pieces (as not to scratch anything) than the install part.
I can have my camaro console ripped open in 5 mins as opposed to the vette one in 15-20.
