Default Hoop removal

Bought a C6 vert with the Crome hoops. I don't care for them and was wondering how to remove them. Will removal do damage to the paint?
Thanks

Do you have a convertible? Do they look like a row bar over the two seats?

I personally like it. It looks great on the against the white color of your vette. It also does serve as a safety feature in case you do roll over for some reason.

If they bother you that much you can always trade it in for a coupe.

Wait a minute here.....if they are the stick on type that are there just for looks then i'm not so sure that they would provide any protection during a roll over.

Mine are mounted behind the seats. It looks like yours are mounted on the deck lid? From the photo, it looks like you could buy a new lid.

Anyone removed the stick on ones? Wonder if it would damage the lid?

i doubt they would help in a rollover. If they are just stick on. I agree with the poster and do not like the look either.

As for how to remove them, if you open the deck lid, are they bolted on (aka are there any fasteners that go through the deck lid) if not, they are probably fastened with that 3m automotive double sided tape.

here is a post from BMW forum that states that 3m makes an adhesive remover

hope these help.

If they are just stick on, they should be easy to remove. If they are bolted through, then body work.

jeezus, I guess...my head hurts from that.
Um, lift the lid, if there are no bolts get your hair dryer and some fishing line and heat and remove.
They are just butt ugly. Might just as well have hubcaps, too.
