I had the rear end "clunk" changed it with the GM Dexron LS and all is good!

So, did you use the GM LS oil that doesn't need any added friction modifier and seems to work well for everyone who has tried it or did you go with something else?

And how did you "smoke" the rearend? I've not seen anyone do that before. Breaking the 2005 with massive hp enhancement is known but not "smoking" one.

I didn't know that. Perhaps I wasted by $$ changing it? But it doesn't tick anymore.
Your on your own with that one. My post was in reference to the post someone left suggesting that you should heat the fluid up by cutting figure 8's in a parking lot somewhere. Thats just wrong as you need to get those gears spinning pretty fast to heat that fluid up.

Fill the differential with the new DEXRON® LS gear oil, P/N 88862624 (Canadian P/N 88862625). Refer to the table listed below for lubrication specifications.

Check the fluid level to ensure it is even with the bottom of the fill plug hole to no lower than 6 mm (0.25 in) below the opening. Install the fill plug and washer to the differential. Tighten the differential fill plug to 35 N•m (26 lb ft).

Important: Steps 8-13 are for vehicles equipped with the differential cooling system. For vehicles not equipped with the cooling system, proceed to step 14.

Raise the vehicle so the wheels are about a foot off the floor. Make sure the wheels can spin freely without obstruction from the hoist or any nearby items. Start the vehicle and put the transmission in second gear. Slowly accelerate to 10 mph and hold this speed for one minute. Turn the vehicle off. Raise the vehicle. Check the fluid level in the differential. Add fluid until the recommended level is reached. Lower the vehicle.

Once the differential fluid has been changed, the vehicle must be driven in 8-10 tight figure eight maneuvers to heat the fluid and allow the fluid to be worked into the clutch plates.

I just had the oil and differential fluid changed in my 2013 Grand Sport after making the drive back to NJ from FL. The car had no issues but I changed the differential fluid just for the heck of it.

I have to say, the car has been bullet proof!

Mine had limited slip clutch chatter until I replaced the fluid with Mobil LS fluid and it has been great since, now over 93,000 miles. Easy job.

Thanks. I just put 2 quarts of Mobile1 LS $20 in my 07. I bought the little hand pump too $9 which made it easy. No more clanking, drives smooth.

I changed mine out a couple of years ago. It maybe didn't need it, but I went ahead for peace of mind. I used the GM brand. I emptied exactly two quarts, and refilled with two quarts.
