Default battery nuts

Looking at these (yes, I lost the negative terminal nut-dont ask)

http://www.homedepot.com/p/Crown-Bol...7578/202836248

http://www.homedepot.com/p/Crown-Bol...7348/100337539

One of these two should work as well as the original correct?

And yes, I will be removing the battery and tray to see if I can get to it later on.

Thanks.

They will work just fine. I picked up a pack at auto zone. Chances are, you won't find the lost nut if you removed the battery and tray. I didn't lol.

The second one might work. The nut you lost is kind of cone shaped and as you tighten it, it pulls the clap tighter. A regular bolt won't do that.

I thought I remember someone finding them on EBay.

If you take the other one off, without loosing it, you'll see what I mean about the shape.

You can also contact AES (http://www.aescorvetteparts.com), which is where I got a used OEM replacement.

The second nut may work but it is a lock nut. I would run a tap through it to cut the lock crimps off.

Tried calling CULTRAG but they were closed. I called gmpartsnow.com, they said 11612153 is a positive terminal nut for the starter. So that isn't what I want.

Also was told they only sell the cables with the nut, and I would have to order the entire thing.. lol yeah, not doing that.

This is exactly why I contacted AES. Got exactly what I needed for a couple of bucks.

I just emailed them a picture of what I was looking for and told them it was for an '08 base coupe. Feel free to borrow my picture from this thread if it helps:
