So I finally got my key fob issue fixed! I know others may not have the exact same issue.
When I bought by C6 it came with both #1 and #2 fobs.... The #1 fob appeared to have never been used and the #2 fob showed some wear. The less used fob always worked no problem, but the #2 fob would only work intermittently. If I would crack open the case twist the battery and then snap it back together it would work for a little bit... I assumed battery was going dead so I bought a new one with the guys help from Batteries + thinking he was knowledgable and made sure I got the correct battery... It was a 3v and fit in the case just fine. I continued to have the same issues.
I finally decided to look into the issue and discovered the texture on the back of the battery was an issue for some and mine had this... So I went to autozone to pick up a set of energizer brand 3V batteries. To my surprise there were multiple 3V batteries and they were all the same size! I had no idea it was important to get the correct numbered battery!!!
I found the the 2032 battery was the right one and checked this with the good working fob... Popped it in the bad remote and haven't had an issue since! The battery that the guy told me was correct at batteries plus was not a 2032. And it was a 3V and the exact same size!
It seems this numbering system wasn't stressed enough in other posts. I know this won't fix all fob problems but I recommend checking this and making sure you try a 2032 battery in your fobs that are having issues before buying a new one!!

Good thing is the same 2032 is also used in my Bicycle Computer and sensors.
I just learned apparently the 2025 is what I had .... It is the exact same diameter but is 2.5 mm in thickness... Hence the 2025 they also make a 2016 which is only 1.6 mm in thickness... Therefore they all will appear to fit just fine as the diameters are the same but the contacts won't touch as they should unless you are using the 2032 which is 3.2 mm in thickness. This probably explaines why I have heard some peoples remotes only work when squeezing the buttons or case together really hard.

My '07 fob has "BATT CR2032" stamped on the back of the fob along with the FCC ID number and the GM part number. I don't know but I would expect that the newer style fob has the same.

Not trying to be nasty, but just for future reference, with virtually all battery powered devices it is important to have the correct numbered battery.
glad it worked for you. no luck for me tho. have done all the tricks, to no avail. called the Stealership and service manger tells me doesn t know anything about it. lol tell him i have to put in slot in glove box, "oh, why, what does it do" pretty sharp manager, calls me back after talking with "top technician", probably wash bay guy, says he never heard of this, just change the battery. too much
