Trouble "Windshield removal"
My windshield is very much pitted so when a rock hit it on 10 April and cracked I said “finally getting a new windshield”. Well like they say ‘be careful for what you wish for’. When I filed my claim with GEICO I indicated that my car has ONSTAR and HUD. The SafeLite guy shows up today and dissembled the frame, took the wipers off and the mirror then realize he has the wrong windshield. So he put everything back together and said someone will be back on Monday the 18th with the right one. This is not going good. He said he hope they send someone with the experience. I am not sure he had the experience. He had those big suction cups on the driver side window to hook up his equipment to swing the windshield into place. This is with the top removed. To me that is a lot of weight on the driver window with no support. I do not like this. This is getting scary because I already notice that the rubber seal on the passenger side end are not fitting back the way it was. I also found a clip on the floor that I don't know where it came from. My wife told me I am over reacting. Hope this do not turn into a horror story.

I can promise you it will not .
That tool is used 1,000 times a day and mimics the factory robot that sets the windshield .
This is a car that you defiantly do not want a tech "hand setting" but all in all it is a very easy window to replace
As far as the "rubber" seal on the passinger side , mine also does not fit properly and I have never had my glass replaced ...
When I had mine done, I called the local Safelite place and they told me to bring the car in. That way it was in a garage, covered and they had all the tools they could ever need. That might be a good option for you as well.
Finally, if you have any questions, ask them before they start and get assurances that you will be happy with the job. It's fine and if they don't want to answer, kick them to the curb and find someone else.

I would definitely take it into their shop rather than have it replaced at my house.
