After receiving our 2008 C6 last Fall we did not get to drive it much before putting it up for the Winter.
During one of our trips the climate control screen went blank.we parked the car for a couple hours and upon return things worked fine.
Yesterday everything worked until we returned after parking the car for a while. Upon starting the screen was blank and remained so for the remainder of the trip. There was air coming out the vents but ac did not function.
I did search but only found problems with C5 modules.
Any suggestions would be appreciated and perhaps a lead on possible repair.
Thanks
Bruce
You'll most likely need to replace it. I have read a lot of cases here about those going bad. You can get one on eBay and it's pretty simple to install after you remove the center console.
Sounds like a cold solder joint on the controller board, and if you have any skills with a solder iron, it's a quick fix.
You just need to pull the center console so you can pull the controller unit out of the center dash, then with the controller apart to get to the boards, should be able to spot any cold solder joints that need to be re-soldered (faster to just spot solder the entire board over again, so another cold solder joint does not pop up later again).
As for replacing the controller (about $225 new), might want to reserve that option for when you wear the symbols off the buttons instead.
Thanks. I did notice several people had repaired C5 units but had not seen much about theC6.
It would be nice to repair this one even if I get on other off eBay.
Seems like this is a part that might have problems as time goes on.
I have not looked to see if there is info on pulling the center console but am sure there is a bit about that.
Thanks
Bruce
I re-soldered the unit in my 2001 but, like you, I was not aware of issues in the C6. Search on here for console removal and, in spite of a couple hard spots, it comes out fairly easily.

I had the exact same issue on my 2013 and I pulled my stock one out and checked it over for bad solder joints and couldn't find any. It eventually started happening again so I picked up a new one off eBay and replaced it. It's worked perfect since then. If you shop it you can find them for <$200 new given a little time. Here is one of the other threads discussing similar happenings. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...going-out.html
Good luck and save yourself the aggravation and find a good replacement one and swap it out. If you don't mind trying a used one they can be had for less than $100. I was hesitant about tearing my center console out on my new car but it really is pretty easy to swap the controller out. Now that I've done it more than once I could do it again in <10 minutes.
Sorry about not getting back sooner- Windows 10 issues.
I did talk with the service man at a dealer and he suggested first to unhook the battery and see if that resets things.
If not I will look for another unit and then see if this one can be repaired for a spare.
Since it works now and then goes blank on occasion I am assuming there is a short .
Thank you all for your assistance.

Tap on it when it is blank and see if it lights up. That might be indicative of a loose connection/solder.
