Without the fob it wont do anything. But with the fob it should start. Might have to push the door button to wake the system up. Never had it go into lock mode with myself and a fob inside.

To which C6 system are you referring?
If you are referring to the overall anti-theft system in a C6, then if it is in "lock down" mode (no known fob present), it is not supposed to be able to start.
Perhaps a little more detail into the problem?

GM discontinued the use of VATS (ignition keys with the embedded resistor) in 2003, so no C6 ever had it.
To which C6 system are you referring?
If you are referring to the overall anti-theft system in a C6, then if it is in "lock down" mode (no known fob present), it is not supposed to be able to start.
