I started a search and came up with this thread. I have an appointment at the dealer this coming Tuesday. This is an intermittent problem: When raising the top, the cycle is completed but the top hydraulic motor keeps working even when the the tonneau cover closes. If I whack the top of the cover, it stops. Something obviously needs to be adjusted there, but that is not the sole problem. When the top is raised, the tonneau cover raises, the top starts up until about a mid-point, and then the tonneau cover closes. However, the top does not move any more no matter how long I hold the switch. The only remedy is to cycle the top several times until the top decides it has had enough of this foolishness and decides to do a full cycle to closing.

I feel your pain. Mine has worked fairly well for the 7 years i've owned it. It is kinda moody though and about every 15-20 cycles or so it will act up kinda like your saying yours does. I've narrowed mine down (I think) to the latch that actually pulls the tanneau cover down. I've watched it in action and For some reason it isn't always synchronized with the other actions and it isn't sitting at the top of its stroke to grab the cover and pull it down. I also will have to go through the cycles a couple of times to finally get it to close. Doesn't happen enough to take it and have it fixed....you know what happens, you take it to a dealer and the top will work perfectly every cycle. At this point i guess about all I can say is "It is what it is"....

The top uses a series of limit switches...as one switch is closed, the system then moves on to the next articulation...and so on. It sounds as if one of yours is not closing dependably..corrosion would be my first thought..especially being in Florida.

I would normally agree that corrosion might be a culprit but I have had this car for 4 weeks and it was immaculate, spotless, and incredibly clean for a car that is 5 years old. I live a distance from the coast and have never had a corrosion problem with any other vehicles I have owned. And for that matter, when I lived on the beach, I did not have a corrosion problem even with the C4 I had.

However, I will not discount any advice and check it out in the morning. Thanks, and as always, all advice is welcomed all the time.

Anyone ever change out the hydraulic fluid? Mine looked like coffee when I got the car. Now, it's clear (and between the "Add" & "Full" lines.)
