Do they at least give you something to hang on to?
From an earlier life: Most electrical problems are simple. The big trick is tracking it down and getting the right diagnosis so you're not randomly replacing parts.
I'll go out on a limb here and predict that this problem is something simple and relatively cheap, but the bill will be
HUGE. < (although that's a given).

Steering column must be on "lock mode" before start. Make sure that your steering wheel is on lock. Good luck.

Glad they fixed it, but curious what is a door lock receiver and how does it affect the car from starting ?

RCDLR, remote control door lock receiver, handles fob chores and a number of other things. It rarely goes bad but appears to have done so in this case.
