Telescopic steering problem

If you were in under the steering column, beneath the trim or plastic panel in that area, you may have inadvertently knocked something loose. There is a motor unit about midway to the firewall in the immediate area of the column that drives a cable to I believe a gear drive back up towards the wheel. Look that the motors power plug has not come loose and that both ends of that drive cable at least appear to be engaged. To see this likely both of those trim pieces under there will need to come out, and a mirror might come in handy. Short of something obvious, the column drive motor and or cable connection would have to be looked at closer.
