Just ordered replacement struts for my 2005 coupe trunk lid and I highly recommend the title vendor. Be sure to indicate your VIN when you order anything to ensure the correct part. The website, as does other GM parts sites, uses second party software to search the part number and it may well return an incorrect part number, as it did with my order.
That software is probably the only reasonable way for them to have a searchable database of parts online. They found the problem, held the order and asked my permission to change the order to reflect the correct part for the struts.
With the VIN, GMPartsDirect personnel use up-to-date GM data to be sure what they send you is the correct part for your car. The customer service through emails has been prompt and outstanding and the price savings is significant. My thanks to Floyd.
Lots of GM dealer online parts sites to look at. If you're a comparison shopper, be sure to include shipping time and costs in your decision. If any of those dealers are in your area, you can usually do an in-person pickup to bypass shipping. Some dealers will price match at the walk-up parts counter and can input your VIN to verify the correct part. If your local dealer doesn't have what you need in stock, they'll check for the closest source and either direct you there or ship it into their inventory at no cost.
The whole parts issue comes down to who you trust, how soon you need it, and how much it costs. It's like any other purchase you make.
