Default Exterior versions of the color Red

Does anyone know the what the difference is between 89U and 80U? Or is it the same color just different years?

I think 80 is Monterey Red and 89 is Crystal Red.

Victory Red is 74.

Torch Red is 70.

The 80U is Monterey Red Metallic 89U is Crysral Red Metallic. The Monterey Red is slightly darker and eas only available on late production 2005 models through the 2007 models. Both are a three step process base coat, tint coat, clear coat.

Monty Red is quite dark, Crystal is medium dark.

There are several pics in here if interested:

86 is Magnetic Red. And here's a sample of several of the reds.

Thank you everyone i appreciate it. I wonder if the difference between the two would be really noticeable enough so that if i put 89U lights on an 80U exterior it would look bad. Really limits the options if so'

Yes, if you used Crystal Red on Monterey Red as a touch-up it will show. They are two different shades. As stated the Crystal is lighter then the Monterey Red.

I like the examples, but the question dealt with 80U and 89U Monterey and Crystal Red.

If you put Crystal Red lights on a Monterey Red C6, the headlights would be noticeably lighter and a different shade. I know it would look odd to me.

Thank you for the response, this is exactly what the real question was. I actually lucked out in that I was able to hold the 89U headlights up to my 07 80U exterior at a body shop and you can definitely see the difference. I guess I will keep patiently waiting as even though aesthetically my current lights are not that great, they function fine and the 80Us seem very difficult to come by.
