Anyone else receive the letter from GM? It's about the connector under the seat that comes loose and gives the air bag alarm.
Most people have just tie wrapped the connector tightly to prevent it from happening.
I guess GM must of start getting a lot of complaints about it.
I have not got that letter but isn't it funny how they will cover that repair, which cost them nothing to fix except maybe a wire tie, but will go on letting the customer have to pay for a faulty harmonic balancer which I'm sure they have been aware of for many years.

I noticed that too. So what happens with the 05? It can have the same problem and is already beyond the 10 year point.
They will probably do the same thing with the harmonic balancers, wait till all the C6's are at or over 10 years old and send a similar letter.
Since we all know why it's caused, and the fix, my car is going nowhere close to the dealer, for that or the Low beam recall. I'll do it myself first.
You would think that the 2005 would also receive this letter, and have it so they can get it fixed if they have the problem.

Mine's an 05 and I got the letter.....a bit late to worry about it. I love these recalls that aren't recalls unless your having trouble.
^^ The air bag alarm should be a safety recall, not a special coverage program.
If it prevents the air bag from inflating, then that is a major safety issue, IMO.

I agree. My 11 year old 2005 C6 has had the check air bag lite problem since 6 months old. The dealer has worked on it several times under warranty and extended warranty and to this day it still comes and goes. I don't know if the air bag will work or not.
I got the letter yesterday. I tie wrapped my '09 and last year I tie wrapped my '13. Why did this take so long to be addressed?
BTW, I learned about tie wrapping it from this forum. Don't know what I'd do without it.
I received this letter this week also and I am in Canada. No issues as of yet with the light... mine is a 2007...Dealer wont be touching my car if my light comes on in the future. Will fix it myself

My light was on. My scanner said it was the right side seat sensor. I sat in that seat and it went off. Is this why? How do I do the tie wrap thing? I don't want to go to the dealer.
...how do I find out when the car went in service?...
Don't know if you're serious or not, but call any GM dealer's service dept and give them your VIN.
Better yet, walk in and have them print the entire GMVIS for the car which will show the warranty history and a generally not very accurate list of options on your car.
