while kneeling outside the car move your seat up and all the way forward you will see the yellow plug, it may or may not be attached to the seat rail....pull it down unplug, spray some contact cleaner in there and plug it back in....wrap zip tie around the plug between the wires...pull TIGHT.....done
That's exactly the fix .. just watch you don't pull it down on top of the wires , there is just enought room to just cinch it down on the connector
I will send my address for my free zip tie lol lol
I have avoided the problem (unknowingly) buy simply putting the seat where I wanted it the day I bought the car and not letting anyone else drive it. Working fine since Jan. 2013 !!!
Heh. I got one too. The letter tells me that my 2005 Corvette can be repaired if its not more than 10 years old or has 120000 miles....whichever comes first. Thanks GM. The issue started 2 years ago before the 10 years, but we are just now getting the letter. Steller customer service.

I got one too for my '08. I never move the seat so I should be good to go!
Got the same letter and had a good laugh too. Mine's an 06! So, in their infinite stinginess and lack of responsibility, GM decides to warn me of a defect IN THE TENTH YEAR OF ITS OWNERSHIP which also coincides with the time limit expiration for GM to fix it under warranty...way to go GM! It's great knowing you're looking out for me.
If I didn't love this car I would be getting another Lexus. They hardly have any issues. GM needs to definitely step up especially on their flagship models.

Really? My friend's IS250 was junk. The door panels started coming off in chunks. She went to the dealer and Lexus refused to cover it. The dealership said they get 2-3 IS250's a week with the same issues. Literally melted and coming off in chunks.
Believe it or not, GM is a "for profit" company (yes, I know about the banko) and likes to reward it's stock holders with profits.
Having said that, I was the sole driver of my '05 as I am with my '11. My suspicion is the movement of the seat is what makes the connector come apart. GM's thinking is why repair them all when only some will fail. If it fails in a (GM) reasonable amount of time they will fix it.
OK, I have my iron pants on so flame away...

Did-it-myself
I fixed my own when I installed the seat firm-it-up package. According to the GM letter I too received, they owe me for the 2 zip-ties I used to hold the connector tightly together and position it out of the way. If only I had kept the receipt for those two zip-ties . . . . . .
By the way, my use of the zip-ties, a couple of years ago, COMPLETELY solved the recurring issue I was having .
My problem wasn't the connector, rather the wires and their pins going into the connector. The wires kept breaking off at the pins crimp. The first I had fixed at the dealer where they merely cut the mate to the wire that had broken form the pin, twisted the wires together, and wrapped the connection in electrical tape. While they were there I later found out that they had cut the insulation on an adjacent wire in the loom and it had started to short against the rod on the bottom of the seat that holds the connector. I found this out when my airbag light started to come on again. To fix the issues I removed the original Airbag Connector and used removable connectors on all of the wires connect to their mates and affixed them to the seat rod with Zip-Ties. No more Airbag Light.
FWIW: I am an Aircraft Mechanic, all tools and parts used were certified for use on aircraft electrical systems.

I have a higher end model but I don't know if that has anything to do with it. This is my second Lexus and my friends second Lexus and no problems.
My car started getting the airbag light 2 weeks ago. Got the letter a week ago. Dropped it off yesterday morning at the dealer and had it done in about 2 hours. No fuss and no drama.
There was another vette there as well, not sure if it was there for the same issue or what.
