Took My '08 on an 8 hour drive from Southern Colorado to the TX panhandle today. Outside of Santa Fe, NM, I ran into a rain/hail storm. Almost 2 inches of hail on the highway for almost 3/4 of a mile. Fortunately for me I saw it before I fully got into it and got off cruise control. Still damned near got sideways before I got control of her again. Raining so I didn't have a chance to clean out my shorts............ Must have had a passenger with me!
Glad you're o.k. Lots of weather conditions to deal with this year. At least your car did'nt get pounded with that hail. I'm getting tired of all the rain we have been getting. If it's raining I don't drive may Vette in it.

I've done that drive. Some of the most beautiful country! Raton Pass, SF, and The Big Texan!
This time of year is hail time around the Denver area too. I've owned all aluminum Jaguars when I lived in the mtns outside of Denver. They did not come out of the garage until hail season passed.

No damage that I can find or see. Was going to continue to S. TX tomorrow but think I will take my wife's truck instead. She was already in TX with my Mom so the vehicle switch will be easy. Plus, with the weather that TX has had already, flooding and such, I think the truck is a better option.
I drove I40 through the Texas pan handle 2 months ago. At that time it was blowing 50 mph and brush fires closed the interstate for 3 hours. One woman I spoke to said her friend at the National Weather Service was predicting the winds were going to turn around and burn us up! Finally we got to go east one exit, turn around west a couple of exits then detour way south around the fires. I personally have no desire to ever return to Texas.

Don't come this way.....( Austin area )we're supposed to have heavy rain tonight thru tomorrow possibly extending into Saturday. It won't take much more rain to have flash flooding again...
Snout/front end air cleaner pickup, tends to run a little low. Low with lots of rain can be a ponding situation. And ponding+C6 can mean hydrolock. Not often, but it has happened. The two I've read about were in TX (Houston, Dallas). Good choice on truck instead of Vette.
